A stunning new exhibition has just arrived next door in Club Row, situated next to the Rochelle School where we work. It’s of particular interest to us because it has been brought together by a duo who passionately believe in the preservation of birds near to extinction.
Through the artists and the work that has been selected they hope to “breath artistic life back into the bird species we have lost”. The show includes a room dedicated to the charismatic bird illustrations of Ralph Steadman, mechanical sculptures that capture the air and grace of birds in flight and delicately crotched hummingbirds, which blew us away. We learnt some disgusting realities walking around the space and felt educated as well as inspired. Here are some of our favourite pieces from the show. We hope you feel inspired enough to head to our neck of the woods and experience it for yourself.
